IT Security Core Team

January 2001, the IRMs formed the IT Security Core Team (ITS Core) to assist the ITS in addressing the security needs of UT-Houston.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing security policies and procedures University-wide
• Implement security policies and procedures
• Recommend and implement security solutions to support policies and procedures
• Promote and coordinates the implementation of security policies and procedures with entities where the ITS Core does not have direct operational responsibility
• Have operational responsibility for major portions of the UT-Houston IT infrastructure, therefore, are able to implement almost all policies and procedures required to build a secure environment
• Receive advice and counsel from the ITS, ITS Steering, ITS Technical and ITS Advisory Groups
